Offer Praise” as the offering was taken.
Rev. Ken Lunsford’s sermon was titled “Giving Thanks, Every Day!” He based it on Luke 17: 11-19.
The story in Luke tells about the healing of ten lepers. Word had reached these retched men that this miracle worker named Jesus had cured a leper. They approached Jesus as a group with the words: “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” Jesus responded: “Go show yourselves to the priests.” Now the priests were also the health officers. An infectious person that had been cured could receive a health certificate from the priests.
Luke put it this way: “And it came to pass, as they went, they were healed.” They had obeyed the command of Christ and their healing had come. One returned to give thanks, to “Praise God with a loud voice.” Jesus said: “Where are the nine? Will no one return and give thanks to God?”
The one who returned was a Samaritan, he was considered an outcast, he was a Gentile. And to this man Christ gave not only a physical blessing but a
spiritual blessing also. Jesus said”Go your way. Your faith has saved
